With four states allowing adult use cannabis consumption and five more on the verge including California, will authentic partnerships between cannabis brands and event promotion collide in a positive way going forward? This has quickly proven to be a multi-billion dollar industry with a bright future. What will this mean for festivals in terms of sponsorship and programming (i.e. think food festivals incorporating cooking with pot, music festivals naming the XXX Brand Cannabis Stage)? How does cannabis fit into the mainstream music, film and food festival industry? Alternatively will an entire festival and event industry continue to emerge around this culture? And what does all of this mean for the harm reduction movement?
