Mike Martin

The founder and CEO of EFFECT Partners, Michael Martin is known as a thought leader in social change activism, sustainability and social change marketing. EFFECT Partners is a Creative Social Change agency based out of Minneapolis. Billboard Magazine calls Michael “the green touring guru”. The music industry’s leading artists and managers call on Michael for greening, sustainability strategy and marketing strategy.

 Over the years, Michael has produced multiple Earth Day concerts on the Mall in Washington DC and produced the first and largest renewable energy festival in the world.  He has introduced many of the greening practices currently being used today in the music industry.  Michael engineered the first-ever green venue audit in 1991 for the New England Patriot’s Foxboro Stadium and created the first-ever national global warming campaign with Ben & Jerry’s and Dave Matthews Band.

He manages or has created successful sustainability and marketing strategies for companies and artists as diverse as Toyota, Jack Johnson, U2, Proctor and Gamble, Black Eyed Peas, Aveda, Unilever, Bon Iver and Apple, including the CLIF GreenNotes program to amplify artist’s impact on environmental justice issues. Earlier in his career, Michael worked as a Wall Street real estate investment banker. He holds a MBA from Northwestern University.
