Claire (West) Parr, daughter of radio industry giant, Jim West, was raised in Dallas, TX. She spent her early years in her father’s recording studio working on jingles and production packages for United Stations, ABC/Cap Cities and other broadcasting conglomerates. She started her own live sound company at 17 and became one of the few successful female live-sound engineers in the country-working with Crossroads Audio, Showco and others. 

Claire worked directly with the largest and most successful broadcasting companies to oversee format changes, consultant deals, custom jingle and production music. She continued to produce the theme music and jingle packages for Dick Clark’s United Stations – working on such shows as Country Gold Saturday Night, Entertainment Express and other weekly countdown shows. She also helped Owen Leach of Broadcast Architecture create an Arbitron research system to assist programmers in the study of Arbitron ratings information. 

In 1987, Claire was asked to join Burns Media Consultants in Los Angeles as Director of Sales and Marketing. In her capacity as head of sales, she negotiated group research and consulting deals with major radio group owners Genesis, ABC/Cap Cities, Infinity Broadcasting and Keymarket Communications (amongst others). She worked with Burns Media president George Burns on auditorium music testing, perceptual One-to-One research and call-out studies for stations like KROQ/Los Angeles, and participated in the highly successful switch of WPIX/New York into the now much celebrated WQCD -or -CD101- as it is known in the NAC/Jazz world. In addition, she also worked with Burns Media to assist in the famous creation of WJFK/Washington DC- one of the first syndicated morning show spots for Howard Stern. 

In the fall of 1988, Claire took her programming knowledge and relationships and segued into the record industry as Director of Urban, Jazz and Adult Music for Enigma Records. Under the tutelage of Sam Kaiser, former head of Atlantic Record promotion and MTV programming, she oversaw the promotion and marketing of their successful jazz imprint -Intima Records-yielding success with familiar contemporary jazz names, Richard Elliot, Fattburger, and Maynard Ferguson. 

Claire made the jump to Geffen Records in 1988 as Director of Adult Music Promotion & Marketing working with giants Don Henley, Cher, Enya, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, Rickie Lee Jones, Joni Mitchell, Pat Metheny, and working on specialty projects for soundtrack albums for The Simpsons, Thirtysomething and the Broadway cast recording of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. She spearheaded Geffen’s Platinum crossing of Contemporary Christian Superstar, Michael W. Smith, to top A/C and CHR success with ‘Place In This World” (winner of the American Music Award of 1990 for Best Adult Contemporary Artist), and a similar success with Kathy Troccoli’s Top Five CHR and A/C hit “Everything Changes”. 

After Geffen’s landmark sale to MCA and David Geffen’s departure from day-to-day operations, Parr left the label in 1993 to join industry veteran Tom Callahan in the creation of Callahan-West & Associates, which quickly became an expansion of the industry’s premier Adult Music promotion & marketing independent firm. Working on the promotion of superstars like Rod Stewart, Elton John, Heart, Mariah Carey, Chris Issak, Steely Dan, Toni Braxton, Jon Secada and others, the company was one of the first full service A/C NAC and Triple A promotion companies in the record industry. 

Claire was given an offer she couldn’t refuse to become the Vice President of Curb Records and moved from Los Angeles to Nashville in 1994 to work with Mike Curb on the creation of successful Pop and Contemporary Christian divisions to cross compatible country music into the pop market, and to develop a boutique Christian label. She was successful in having the biggest A/C – only record in 1996 with Michael English’s “Your Love Amazes Me”, and the now legendary LeAnn Rimes’ huge hit single “How Do I Live?”, which became the longest running single on the Billboard Hot 100, and was #1 on the Billboard A/C chart for 11 weeks. She oversaw CHR/Pop campaigns with the massive success of the Four Season’s remixed “Oh What A Night” – and immense success with “How Do I Live?” and “Can’t Fight The Moonlight”. She also racked up multiple #1 singles on the Christian side with Michael English, Jonathan Pierce and Whiteheart, and oversaw the winning of a Dove (Christian equivalent of the Grammy) for Inspirational Record of The Year with the debut of the group Selah. Claire spent six years with Curb Records. 

She resigned in March of 1999 to create The Navigator Company. She created on the most successful Adult- orientated independent marketing & promotion companies in the industry. She has since been hired on to work on the promotion and artist development of projects with Island/Def Jam, Sony, Epic, Universal Music Group, Capitol, Virgin, Jive, RCA Records, Lava Records and J Records, on such superstar projects as Bruno Mars, Arianna Grande, Coldplay, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Adele, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay, Nickelback, Mehgan Trainor, Lukas Graham, Hozier, O.A.R., Jason Mraz, , KT Tunstall, Drake White, Florida Georgia Line, Norah Jones, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Lenny Kravitz and countless others. 

In 2008, Claire co-founded Live In The Vineyard, the country’s most successful “private” music, food and wine festival in Napa, California. Live In the Vineyard is featured on over 300 radio station and TV outlets, with partnerships with Clear Channel, CBS, Cumulus Broadcasting, Ryan Seacrest, and multiple concert specials yearly on Sirius/XM Satellite "The Pulse" Radio. In 2010, Southwest Airlines dedicated a co-branded decaled Boeing 737-700 to their flying fleet with the “Live In The Vineyard” Logo on the airplane, and she and her business partner Bobbii Hach Jacobs started the highly-successful “Live at 35” concerts in the air. To date, she’s co-produced 18 LITV events, 36 plus in –flight concerts, countless national music and food events for Southwest, Microsoft, Starwood, Sutter Home, Constellation, Anheuser-Busch and more. She was just featured in Inc.com as one of the top 20 Female Entrepreneurs to follow, and been a featured speaker at SXSW, as well as being a highlighted speaker this October at the San Francisco Music-In-Tech Conference. Live In The Vineyard boasts corporate partnerships with Starwood, Southwest Airlines, Enterprise/National Rent-A-Car, Stella Artois, UPS, and more. Her Yountville Live event has partnerships with Sunset Magazine, Volvo, Microsoft, DC Solor Solutions, Kitchen Aid and more. 

Two years ago, Parr picked up the management of culinary superstar Chef Grant MacPherson and his Global Food & Beverage Company, Scotch Myst. MacPherson has been at the top of the world culinary scene for over 35 years, cooking on 5 continents for Kings, rockstars and moguls. His 5 year tenure as Executive Chef at Raffles, the “Grand Old Lady of Singapore”, was the beginning of a time that moved him to Las Vegas at the request of Steve Wynn to build out the Food & Beverage program at the Bellagio, The Wynn, The Wynn Encore, and then the Wynn in Macau. He also revamped the Sandy Lane program for Desmot Dermond, and just opened Wynn Palace - anew multi-billion dollar property in Macau. He is the Worldwide Chef Ambassador for Stella Artois, and his name is grouped with the icons of the food world like Ducasse and Robuchon. 

Claire relocated her family and company back to Dallas, Texas Metro-plex area, and she shares her success with her 18-year-old son Elijah who started college this fall at the University of Washington in Seattle. She splits her time between Los Angeles, Napa Valley and Dallas, Texas, but can be found more days then not on an airplane crossing the globe to create “once-in-a-lifetime” culinary and music experiences. The Navigator Company specializes in Hot/Modern A/C, mainstream adult and CHR Radio promotion for major and independent record labels in the U.S. and across the globe.
