Laura Michalchyshyn is an executive producer and media executive who co founded Robert Redford’s Sundance Productions. She is a creative producer, working on non fiction and fiction content for all platforms with established and emerging storytellers, directors, writers and collaborators. She has produced documentary series, reality, scripted dramatic series, short form and acclaimed documentaries with Robert Redford, Isabella Rossellini, Alex Gibney, Joe Berlinger, Brett Morgen, Ivy Meerpol, Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey, Caroline Suh, Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin, Don McKellor, Noam Gonick and Mike Clattenburg. She is developing scripted series with AMC, HBO, FX, ABC, Sony, Paramount, MGM, FX, and CBC.

Recent productions include two CNN series Chicagoland and Death Row Stories, the short digital series The 4%: Film’s Gender Problem (EPIX/Jigsaw) one hour documentary special Isabella Rossellini’s Green Porno Live (Ovation), All the President’s Men Revisited (Discovery), digital series Scammers (Hulu). Launching soon are docu drama series The American West (AMC- June 11, 2016)) and the non-fiction series OceanOps (Animal Planet- 2017).

Laura has spent over 25 years as a programmer, producer and network executive running cable channels and programming teams at Sundance Ch, Discovery’s Planet Green and Health Network, Showcase, IFC Canada, Action and Diva for Alliance Atlantis in the US and Canada. Her other notable productions include The March on Washington (Dir. John Akomfrah), To Russia With Love (Director Noam Gonick), the 3D half hour anthology film series Cathedrals Of Culture (Dirs. Robert Redford, Wim Wenders) the dramatic series Slings and Arrows (Creators/Writers Don McKellor and Bob Martin), and the half hour comedy Trailer Park Boys (Creator/Director Mike Clattenburg).

She has won Emmy’s, GLAAD Award, Peabody, IDA Award, WIFT Award, RealScreen Award and an Environmental Media Association Award.
